About Phishing

Just a reminder...

Phishing: bad hackers looking for your information through fake emails that look like the real thing

Solving: do not respond to any email asking for information and do NOT click links in the email to sites asking for your information

Instead: Go to the legitimate site on your own, preferably in a different browser, to look for the request there.

Example:

I receive an email for my GoDaddy account that says "click here for your renewal." Instead of clicking on the email link or replying, I open my browser and go to my account myself to login (NOT using the email's link).  If it's legitimate, the same request will be in my account information.  Usually, it is not legitimate and no information exists.

I never click on an email link asking for account information.  There's always another way outside of email to verify the information.
